I was excited to get my hands on one of these and it has quickly become my favorite method of transporting shells, calls, snacks, sunglasses, weed shears, batteries, remotes, face masks, and, well you get it. The bag just seems to swell to my needs. I have not hesitated to pack more and more into the Dry-Blind Bag including a waterproof jacket, extra layers, and extra gloves. It is assuring that you have a dry place to store items like clothing maybe only necessary in the worst conditions, but nonetheless in your Dry-Blind Bag.
Designed with two water-resistant outer zippered pouches and two interior heavy-coated net pockets, plus a clear window pouch on the closure that intuitively is easy to see when open, but concealed and protected when the bag is closed. Zippers have large pull tabs making them easy to grab. The bag is built of robust 500D PVC Tarpaulin, Mil-Spec webbing, and quality Duraflex® hardware. All seams are RF-welded to provide a reliable, watertight seal, and stress points are bar-tacked for added strength and durability. This bag is built to last and guaranteed against defective materials and workmanship. I used this bag in some tough conditions ranging from rain to sub-zero temperatures. At 10 degrees I noticed the material only slightly stiffened, as one would expect with no change in functional use.
The closure when coupled with the rolled-over seal indeed gives you a solid watertight bag. I liked the idea that I could open the closure and expose the interior after unrolling, and reach in to get what I needed. Straps on the outside secure the closure and have ample length to let you really stuff the bag full. On occasion, in nicer weather, I just use the straps to securely close the bag without rolling the bag sides to make it watertight. The shoulder strap is great, but I also found the grab handle great for quick moves and hanging that bag.
I hunted in a downpour early in the season with the bag and note that things do stay dry, but wet hands and gloves reaching in will compromise the dry factor. I added a few sheets of paper towels in the bottom to absorb any water that I put into the bag. Otherwise, contents only damped slightly by my use. In hindsight and in future hunts, I placed things like shells and items I want to access often in the outer pouches keeping the bag contents drier. Maybe one needs a slight learning curve on how to keep things dry when for the most part we accept wetness. I am comfortable that you will quickly realize the value of a watertight bag. The side interior pouches can hold things like gloves and facemasks, keeping them dry, outer water-resistant pouches can hold shells and things you might access over and over.
